En Vuelo features Mexican jazz music for piano by composer and pianist Felipe Grodillo. Gordillo's musical history begins in his childhood. He grew up listening to marimba on his father's records from Chiapas, his older brother's rock, and classical music. His mother enrolled him in the National School of Music after noticing his early talent- he was able to improvise piano chords without having had any previous training. He began by studying the Russian piano method, and fell in love with the instrument. Today, he performs all over the world as a soloist and as a part of jazz ensembles. He is also an avid teacher, and presents masterclasses for young musicians across the globe.
