With Beloved of the Sky, pianist/composer Renee Rosnes explores the beauty found in life’s more intangible joys. Thematically inspired by the works of painter and environmentalist Emily Carr, these nine pieces ruminate on the splendor of nature, the comforts of home, and other simple joys of life. This set is fueled by the stellar backing band of saxophonist Chris Potter, vibraphonist Steve Nelson, bassist Peter Washington, and drummer Lenny White.
